'83 fuel hose size?

Gents,

Anyone know the correct size fuel rated hose from the saddle tanks to the selector valve in the boot? it fits on a nub fitting on the bottom of each tank, then a short piece of hose, then an aluminum tube into the boot, then another longer section of hose to the valve. 1/2" seems to small and 5/8" too big. Thanks!

It's 1/2" as far as I know. That's what I've always used on the fittings that are actually in the boot. I don't recall using anything different on the nubs right at the tanks....but it's been a long day.

Others will chime in

Cheers

It's 7/16. I have a text document with all the fuel hose sizes, locations and clamp numbers if you need it.

Please! That will be one I will really use as most of my lines are in very poor shape.

That chart with Hose/clamp sizes would be a great tool to have as I want to change everything also. Can it be posted?

I'll take a photo of it and post it when I get home from work tonight. I don't know if I wrote down the clamp sizes but I'll see if I can't scare up the sizes. I bought a box of assorteds and ended up running out because they're all like one weird size and Advance Auto near me didn't have any proper fuel hose clamps.

The Clamp SIzes I used most IIRC were 13-15mm mostly. Biggest were 15 -17 mm IIRC. Anything smaller than the 13-15mm and you will struggle to get them on. This is a compendium of what others wrote but what I used when replacing mine maybe amonth ago. Get extra 5/16".
