'86 XJ 6 Fuel Pump: Update
Got the new Pierburg fuel pump today; it was here when I arrived home, so I installed the pump in about 10 minutes, and, after a little cranking, she runs!
She actually smoothed out and ran really smooth for about 20 seconds then several cylinders went dead. I suspect the oil I squirted in the cylinders fouled the plugs, so I will get a set. I am rained and darked out right now, anyway, but the Cat moved under her own power, and the top coolant hose actually got warm. It's been a while.
Everything I tried works. I know there is no belt on the AC compressor: the pulley is frozen but the compressor will turn.
Something is causing my laptop to skip letters, and it is driving me crazy so I will sign off for now.
