aerial motor, part 2
 

Hi,

got new replacement antenna and motor for my XJ12, replacement part for DAC4090.

Original motor has 2 wires: both comes from the motor to the (lift) relay - one is blue-white, other is blue-red. Also there is one wire that comes from the mounting bracket to the motor; that is negative pole, for sure.

Replacement motor has 3 wires: first is black (that should go to the mounting bracket, I guess) others are red and green..

What should I do?

My thought is that red should go where blue-red was and green where the blue-white was... Is that OK or I will destroy new motor...??

or, does it matter, at all?

Negative is without doubt connected to the mounting.

Since antenna goes up and down, I was thinking that positive goes from relay once through one wire and then via second one - so only possible mistake that could be done is when radio turned on antenna goes down instead of up and vice versa.

Am I right or still better to go to mechanic..?

In Germany - it works now, but no one told that you need one constant voltage on one wire... Original DAC4090 worked by relay changing voltage to the motor...

So - the red wire from the replacement motor doesn't go to one of two contacts on the relay originally used by DAC 4090 motor but to the contact that supplies the relay with the constant voltage.

The green wire goes to the one of two contacts that were used before with the original motor - to the one that has voltage only when radio is on. One contact on the relay is then not in use.

You can connect it directly - and bypass the relay - and you don't have that 10 seconds delay anymore... but it is so cool...
