Another small victory today, '74 XJ6 swb
 

Still having trouble with the rear carb, so I blocked it off and got the big kitty running again, brought up the trans fluid and finally got her moving under her own power; probably for the first time in nearly twenty years! the brakes are tight, probably rust on the rears, but they freed up enough to move the beast from under the aggravating cedar tree and out into the grass. Took a big chance and put the driver's side window down (because I'd be up the creek if it wouldn't go back up) to get some air in there... went back up fine. I need to replace all the plugs and wires and change the oil and filter....
Just stoked to have it move on it's own! WOOT

Awesome! :D It's great bringing an old girl out of storage, very rewarding.

That is so satisfying......well done.

Well; not so much "storage", as get her away from the cedar tree which must shed fifteen pounds of dross every day... soothing to listen to the old six chatter away.... gave her a needed bath, as well; a year's accumulation of grime was leaving her looking unkempt

Another issue dealt with: the driver's rear door wouldn't open from the outside, so I took the trim panels off and discovered the linkage from the outside handle to the latch had popped loose... did I mention how small an area that is to work in? MAN.. and it's HOT out today.... had to fabricate a tool to both twist the link and press it into place.... but it worked, and the door opens from outside once again! I like how Jaguar designed the armrest, to lock into place in slots... now, to go put it back on!
