Got air?
have you bled the air out of the ps steering system after all that disassembly work??
you need to raise the front of the car, run the engine, and do about 30 to 40 lock-to-lock turns of the steering wheel, [without hitting the stops hard], in order to bleed the air out of the system. Sometimes you have to do it twice if still groaning.
remove the Cap while bleeding.
