I've seen kits for T5 adaptation to the 4.2 Jag Six, and have been considering it for my '76 XJ6C. I have a manual console/shift boot from Europe, and have converted to euro bumpers, so I think it would compliment the euro look and give a huge improvement in performance.
Anyone have experience with the kits? Or has anyone driven a 5 speed XJ?

I'm considering 5 speed gearbox for my XJ12C...
Hopefuly after Xmas I'll have some more time for research on this.

Just a little tidbit.
The Getrag 265 is mentioned, as well as the T5 and others.
I'm *think* that the Getrag 265 is the same, or at least in the same "transmission family", as the New Venture 3500. The NV3500 was used in many USA applications. I think it was a matter of NV manufacturing Getrag transmissions under license.
This might broaden choices/availability and merit some research.
Cheers
