Anyone used a car dolly to tow a V12 Jaguar Sovereign?

Have to tow one home that is 96 miles away with a dead V12 motor...my 1/2 ton truck is not eligible for towing a four wheel car flat bed trailer...plus they do not rent 3/4 ton trucks....

I do understand the drive shaft has to be removed and trans capped to retain
the trans fluid.

Any other thoughts/problems???

Put the dolly under the rear wheels, lock the steering wheel straight ahead, and tow it backwards on the front wheels and it will be fine.
I got a wrecker to bring mine home (5 miles): he backed up to it and set the rear wheels on two arms, lifted them clear, and off we went. I thought I was getting a flatbed but it worked fine. $60 and was worth it. In this case the rear wheels never turned so the transmission was never turned: no taking the driveshaft loose or any of that trouble.
A flatbed or a trailer is the best way to move a non-running car, but not the only way.
