Auto door lock/unlock not working '84 XJ6 SIII
Lately my passenger door hasn't been unlocking when I unlock the car but I noticed last night that while the driver's door locks when I lock it and it sounds like all the doors and the boot lock trigger too, all of the other doors remained unlocked.
There is an aftermarket remote lock/unlock fob that came with the car so I tested it with the key and got the same result.
Any idea what might be wrong?
Thanks in advance,
Rhett

This sort of thing has happened to at least one door of every electrically locked car I ever had; Including my Jaguar, our Ford Van and the Chrysler I had in college.
Take the inner panel off and clean best you can, then lubricate all the linkage pivots and slides of all the components that open and lock the door. That fixed mine.

Actually, the doors can each be manually locked with the lock flaps. What doesn't seem to work is the power lock feature where I either turn the key in the door or press the key fob and it sounds like the doors are locking but only the driver's side does.
Is it possible there's a more central problem or is it safe to say it's in each of the door locks? It worked just the other day...

Oh sorry I wasn't clear, I meant when I unlock the drivers door all the doors except for the front passenger door unlock. Peering through the drivers window sometimes I can see the passenger lock flap move a few millimeters towards unlock then fall back to locked which tells me the lock gets the signal but too much dirt, not enough lubricant, is making it too difficult for the little motor to unlock it. So there is a decent chance that like my car it just needs some cleaning.
