BIG tranny issue!

ok ppl! im gonna take my 87 Xj trranny out and fix that bad boy cuz MAN its broke!!!!! Park , reverse are the only ones that work! drive is a NO GO at all!!! and man, im grounded!!!! No prowlin for this cat! Any tips? or suggestion! How long of a job is it, and do i need a pro to help? well, thanx all!

not alot of experience, but ive done work on a CHarger tranny before. i still think im gonna get a buddy i know to help, hes a HUGe jag fan. i would think Dodge Muscle and Jaguar are a bit different. I WOULD STILL LIKE A LINK TO SOME DIAGRAMS (pictures) or anything i might have to look forward to.

ITS A GM 400 TRANNY NOT DIFFICULT TO REBUILD BUT WATCH WHAT YOU DO IF YOU DO THE RE&RE YOUR SELF THE REBUILD FROM A SHOP SHOULD NOT BE MORE THEN 500-800 BUCKS.
