Body Dolly
Hey gang,
Has anyone built a dolly to support their Series II car? I want to be able to drop out the rear end as well as the front cross member and skate the body tub around with ease. thanks! Mr. Solo.. |
look at how they did it at the factory. A Rotisserie.

DOLLY
A simple 2.5 x 2.5 steel square bar with swivel and rigid caster wheels works well on both front and rear. The same dolly can be used on the Mk2, XJ6, and other Jaguar frames.
BILL OF MATERIALS
Dolly construction detail (shown on Mk2 body but works on XJ6, XJ12, etc) https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.jag...719a6aca53.jpg Jaguar frame dolly Weld on a plate at the end to mount the castor wheels. Rear wheels should be slight larger to enable the frame to remain roughly horizontal without a downward slope. https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.jag...345187e52f.png Front Dolly on XJ6 This dolly can easily transport the frame on a flatbed truck if needed. Also handy for painting the raw frame. https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.jag...6d77f9707b.png Painted XJ6 frame on dolly |
That will do the trick.
Thank you! |
