There are holes in the wheel wells to access the latches, or so i am told.
Someone will be along shortly thats actually used them and will give you a more detailed description on where and what to do.

There doesnt seem to be any holes in my one ...they must have been welded up at some stage !.Think i am going to have to use a hole cutter and drill somewhere ,But where is the question ,as dont want to drill into anything under the hood !

Energency Hood/Bonnet Release

In the upper wheel well on both sides is a plug (if it hasn't fallen out). It's easy to see because of the 2 nuts securing the latch to the fender wall.

Upon removing this plug (you might not want to lose it), insert a largish flat screwdriver pointing Forward.

You're looking for this:

The red arrow indicates the plug from above. The green arrow is the "lever" which you want to push BACK to release the latch. It's a simple slide mechanism.

You can see how you might need to poke around for a bit until you're sure you're on the correct object, but when you find it simply pry against the edge of the hole and the latch will release.

If you think it's a good idea, you might want to lube the latch components for easier operation.

The cable will last longer as it will pull easier if this is done once in a while.
