Brake pad question

when i redid my front end while car was off the road i redid front brakes, but now it seems i have to wash my wheels after just about every drive! the brake dust is ridiculous!
Dont remember what brand i got but i know they were semi metallics, and weren't particularly cheap! got them from rock auto, but of course was a couple of years ago so i cannot find what it was i bought!

does anyone have a brand and part number for a decent set of pads that don't require constant upkeep of the wheels??

Metalic pads tend to do this. Consider trying a ceramic pad. Most major aftermarket pad manufactures use the same ceramic base material. Ceramics tend to wear the rotors less and produce less visible dust but dont expect the same brake feel because they have different friction characteristics.

On my XJS and Series III XJ6 I experimented with different pads and had great luck with Raybestos PGD9M (rear) and PGD135 (front). No noise, very minimal dust, good bite....and great fade resistance for (at least) moderately aggressive driving.

That was years ago, though. Lord knows if they still offer those specific pads and/or if the composition has changed.

I had Akebono ceramics on my XJR. Fantastic pads but I don't think they're offered for the Series III cars

Cheers
