Which Brand for Bushings?
I'm slowly gathering the parts for a front suspension overhaul. I've purchased Lemfoerder upper and lower ball joints so far. Now I'm looking at control arm bushings. Of the parts warehouses that list their brands (Rock Auto, Parts Geek, etc,) there seem to be three generally available brands: Beck/Arnley, Uro and Deeza. I've read nothing but negative reviews for Beck/Arnley and Uro. I can't find much on Deeza either way. The specialty jag suppliers don't seem to publish their suppliers which I'm not very comfortable with. Can anyone recommed a source for quality control arm bushings? I don't know who the OEM was, anyone know that?
Thanks, J |
Look to see if the seller discloses the material (rubber, urethane, PTFE, Etc.) & the durometer of the material used (40A, 60A, 80A, etc.)
That will tell you if they know their stuff. |
I *think* the original manufacturer was 'Metalasik' which has long since been absorbed by other corporate entities. It may have only been a trade/design name used by the manufacturer, perhaps Dunlop? I'm not really sure.
The search gets confusing because 'Metalastik' is also used in casual terms to decribe the general type/design of the bushing.... Others will chime in. I'll go thru my old notes and try to find the brand name of bushings I've used and been happy with. Cheers DD |
