Default A/C System Oil Amount

Do anybody know the total amount of oil the a/c system takes?
I am replacing all the components in my system (except the evaporator which I had vacuum tested) and the shop that is going to fill with R12 isn't sure how much oil is supposed to be in the system.
Anybody know the amount? Or where to look to find out?
Thanks.

You may want to send a PM to smgdata. He just did our XJ12.

Thanks.
From what I've been able to find out online is the system has a capacity of 40 ounces of refrigerant and takes 7 ounces of mineral oil for use with R-12.

Sounds about right

Are you keeping R12 ? or converting to R134a ?

If you are converting, you need to be careful about what kind of oil you use..... one kind is compatible with potential R12 residues left over in your system the other kind is not

Not converting. I'm sticking with R12.
