Ca emissions vs federal

I just put a different engine in the 1983 xj6 I inherited.It runs O.K...
But just found out that the old engine was Federal emmisions and the new engine I put in is California emmisions.Could this be a problem? Yes I am scratching my head as I write this!!

same thing - as far as I know - the 4.2 engine in the '83 is the same for all years and all states.
