Default Can anybody explain where these fuel lines go?

Out of the two i am holding the one on the left spills petrol when the key is turned, there is also another hose coming from the carby that is clamped off as you can see. I just got this series 2 xj6 a few days ago and am in the process of finding out what I need to do to get it running. All advice welcome. A few more photos will be attached

of the car!

Look like the float bowl overflows to me. If they are spilling fuel, then you float needle valve is not sealing.
Possibly stuck open, or you could have a float problem.
Not too hard to fix.
The taped up hose is the feed for the AED that has been removed form this car.

The one on the left that is overflowing is coming straight from the guts of the car. Do I need the AED to run this engine, haven't even got her started yet. From what I understand the AED is sort of a choke but I seem to have a manual choke under my steering wheel.

It is not clear from the photo where the one on the left is coming from. I assumed it was from the same place as the other.
No you do not need an AED to start the car, The manual choke pulls the main jets down to allow much more fuel to enter the throttle body.
I must say I have never seen such an array of fuel lines/filters in an engine bay - no need for them all if one filter (in the boot) is doing its job.

Where are you? I may be able to assist in getting your car started.

I am located in Milton, 2538. 45 min south of Nowra. I'll take a few more photos of the area in question to give you a better idea.

I note you have now listed this car for sale.
Just a quick question - how did you get the car to where it is with the engine not going and no steering?

A rip off tow truck bill hah. it was dropped on the lawn there and then i had to move it to the carport a day later. The towy got another call for a bad crash as we got it almost into the carport and had to go leaving me to get it in there myself and in doing that the steering came out. I have listed for sale as I feel out of my depth and my parents want me to buy a running car I'd really like to keep it and get it going but I'm only 21 and am now out of work so I don't think I'll be able to continue with it sadly.
