I think there are two greens. Each a glycol base concoction. One said to be less dangerous to critters that like to drink spills, it's sweet!! The one I used is marketed under the Sierra brand.
Now, for some odd reason VW has it's own idea. Purple. hard to find, except at VW dealers. And far more expensive than the greens. My daughter's Passat lost it's purple. But, gal pal's pro auto tech says, no need, it gets green stuff. it has it and so far, OK.
But, if it were much newer and in warranty, it would be a breach !!!

I've been using Prestone Anti-Freeze in all my cars since the late 1970's. Yes, Green.
I always buy two gallons at Walmart, and mix them at 50/50 (1 gallon of coolant and 1 gallon of water). End up with 4 gallons. Never had a problem with my cooling systems.
Do not buy the pre-mixed gallons, you will pay an arm and a leg for half a gallon of water.
And make sure you look at the front of the container, the labels are so similar you get fooled easily and end up with pre-mixed if you are not careful.
