Crankshaft bolt

I am trying to find a socket to fit on the crankshaft bolt on a 4.2 engine. Can anyone tell me the size of the bolt.

Sort of related, how is the lower section of the radiator cowl attached?

Any thoughts appreciated.

I seem to remember it's 1-5/16". Someone else will confirm or correct…

Andrew.

I use a 33mm socket on my Series 3. Fits nice and snug.

Close enough! 🙂

Andrew is right.

Would just add: When using it be careful not to let your hand keep hitting the expansion tank hose (assuming stock set up). It's pretty hard to keep the spanner on the crank nut so it's easy to hit that hose as there is little room. Issue is the nipple is copper and has a weld onto the expansion tank which is pretty delicate. It's really easy to break that weld (Yes, did so) and then you'll have coolant leaks until you get it really nicely re-done.
