Default Details on Bosch Air Flow Meter for SIII years

My pursuit of better idle quality for my 87 SIII has led me to the AFM. So far, I have discovered the AFM in my car was actually from an 85 model. I'm guessing the PO swapped it in when the original failed.

Wondering if anyone knows where to find an output voltage vs flap angle diagram or a temp vs temp sensors ohms diagram for an 86-87 AFM from a SIII?

Having this would make it easy to tell if my 1985 AFM is a match for my 1987 ECU.

Thanks

I've never seen that info published, personally.

How did you determine you have a '1985' AFM?

Are the labels/part numbers still attached to both AFMs?

Cheers

There is yellow writing on the side that say "85 XJ 4.2". This part looks to have come from a recycler which was probably the source of the writing.

Were these AFMs that same for all years 82-87?

Pretty much. There were just two part numbers 1979-1987.

One (EAC3821) for USA/Canada/Japan/Australia/Sweden/Germany/Switzerland and one for ....everywhere else (EAC3820).

It isn't likely that you have one of the "everywhere else" versions but ya never know!

Are these the numbers for the ECU or the AFM? Are you saying since the ECUs were the same across all years, the AFMs had to be the same as well?

I was talking about AFMs.

Quite a few different ECUs were used over the years.
