Electric Xj6 Series 3
My involvement with Jaguars has led me to the most interesting people. Case in point... I got to converse with the creator of this special electric Jaguar.
Here are pictures and specification....
Range: 34kw Battery Pack, 80 miles
TOP SPEED: Over 100 miles +++
TAKE OFF: Faster than Tesla
Approximately 260hp with 400ft/lb or torque
"has so much torque rips a hole through time & space"

Vroom, vroom, more than just pleasureable !!!
There are a "gaggle" of Prius' that have invaded the neighborhood.
Just too quiet...
A bit ago, almost got in the way of one in a market parking lot!!
whoah, it was the guy down the road. He used to mess importing
Morris Minor woodies, and flipping them. Jag vs Morris kindled
a couple of conversations.
I've a soft spot for the little Morris cars. I went on a blind date in Germany n about 53. Fellow officer, his GF and the gorgeous blonde
that shared my life for 54+ years.... Still does, we just communicate
differently... I'll hopefully rejoin here in the not too far distant future...

Electric cars do have their virtues. Throttle response is key. When you press the accelerator the response is instant, immediate torque and no downshifting. I drive a Lexus Hydrid daily which is basically an electric car with an on board gasoline generator it's perfection at 172,000 hard NYC miles. The consistency of the all electric systems like brakes, steering, air conditioning is a marvel. There are no subtle differences in system performance because of ambient temperature or other external factors.
The young futuristic dreamer in me sees electrics as ideal, the old man in me still loves the rumble of my the 6.2L LS powered Escalade and the turbine like power and sound of my BMW v12 E32. They are all good.

Tony:
Like Elinor, I removed that "monkey motion" safety link long ago.
But, as she says, a good wind with one's head in the engine bay
might give one a king/queen sized head ache.
I've the lower leg from a bummed out weed whacker for a support handy. Just eh right size and curvature...
Like Isa... : electrics are fascinating. I was reading of electric power steering. Not sure I got the architecture. Electric servo or stepper to
boost human input. Or, merely an electric motor driving a hydraulic pump.
My Lump has an electric motor powered air pump. If one has to be, this seems trhe better way.
It also has an electric motor powered water pump. An expensive fix to a dumb move by me. But, so far so good, and with advantages....
That silver Jaguar is absolutely breathe taking. if only the range was a lot better....
Now, suppose each wheel had it's own electric motor.... Inboard for
besting the 'sprung vs unsprung: weight dilemma.
Reverse the motors for braking? Or merely use them as generators,
when on coast or slowing...

(I know this has nothing to do with electric motors, my apologies for the hijack!)

The 60ft times on these cars should be impressive and probably more consistent without all the variables involved in launching a regular high HP car.

Very interesting.
I had a look at buying an electric car recently for the daily run, and because the BC government were paying $5,000 to anyone who bought one.. turned out I wouldn't be able to keep it charged enough for the way I drive, but I was intrigued by the possibility nonetheless.
The company here that offers conversations would say it's a dam heavy car for electric but that doesn't mean it can't be done (obviously), and the cost is quite high for the batteries etc.
