Default exhaust temp warning lamp!

Hallo, i just bought an XJ12 Daimler from Japan. I made about 550 km on a Highway with no problems but sometime the exhaust temp warning lamp was warning. I red it is only mounted in Japan cars. Do you know what does it speak for? What should i check? When i drive more then 140 kmh it disappears and is flickering between 100-130 kmh and disappearing in the city....

Greetings form Berlin

Check your ignition timing. If your timing is retarded it will cause the exhaust gasses to be very hot. Your xj12 has a centrifigal mechanical timing advance which is known to get feststecken. Also check the vacuum advance unit too.
