Factory color options

Im not 100% sure what color my jaguar is(more of a blueish grey). I was wondering if anyone knew the color options for the 1990 soverign model year.

Look on the driver's door jam. You will see a manufacturer's detail plate. At the the bottom of this it will give you a trim code and a paint code. Post the codes and I can tell you the colors.

RE: Factory color options

Hi Ken, i have a similar question. I'm restoring a 1973 Series 1 XJ6, and am wanting to find out what the original paint was. I was told it was Sable, but i'm finding red under quite a bit of the body. On the tag in the door jam, it has the VIN and date stamped, but no paint code or trim code. I was wondering, the body # is 4L52357, is there archives i could look up? I'm kinda stuck, i'd sure appreciate some help. Cheers!

I don't know if the Series 1 had the paint codes on the detail plate. You will probably need to supply the Jaguar Heritage with the complete VIN and they can give you all the specifics. My system does not go back that far. If the detail plate is on the door jam and it has a paint code, give me that. I can dust off some of the old manuals and see what it says. Only the Heritage can do it by VIN I'm afraid.
