Free Series 1 XJ6 parts,Brisbane.AU
Another forum member has offered any parts off his XJ6 hot rod donor car free to members before it is sent off for crushing. Have a look at the pics and speak up if you see anything you want. It looks like possibly a lot of the interior is series III.
I will be collecting any parts that are wanted in a couple of weeks and can organise pick up or drop off in and around Brisbane. Or post/courier to you at your own cost.
The steering column, gear shifter, air con and instruments are already claimed for the hot rod project.
Some other parts have already been claimed, but pretty much all you see is available. Left tail light is available too.(front and rear screen and seat belts are mine)

The sun visors are spoken for, the 7" headlights have gone for the hotrod but I believe the buckets are there, chrome rings too. Emblem is available.
Is it the toggle piece you want or the whole mirror assembly?
I won't be collecting the parts for a couple of weeks, then I can calculate postage for you.
PM me your location so I can see what postage will cost you.

Front window trim pieces (4)
I know they are large and have to be carefully packed so the natural bends stay in them... you are taking the window - but the trim? Shipping can be billed of course and I would pay for proper packaging.
My car is missing all of the pieces and looks odd without the trim.

Are you after just the front and rear screen trims, or for all windows. I can remove whatever is wanted. You are referring to the chrome trims on the windscreen seals right?
I use a local company called Pack and Send, they deliver in the US with DHL. They pack items very well.
They invoice the receiver by email and once invoice is paid they ship your items.
That way all I do drop the items off, the rest is your responsability. Once I know what people want I will take parts to them for quoting shipping costs and work from there.

Clarke, I'm after the interior light lenses and the exterior side mirrors. Oh and the 'PRND21' trim that surrounds the gear lever
Whats the condition of the radiator support panel? If that's in a reasonable state and you don't mind pulling it off I'll take it?

Hi Woz,
daf11e already claimed the interior lens, but the side mirrors are yours. The complete shifter with the trim is going to the hot rod.
Not sure about the radiator support panel condition, but if you can pinpoint it on these parts diagrams or post a picture of exactly what you want we will endeavour to rescue it.
A photo of what you want would be best.

Clarke, happy with the mirrors, I'll take whatever I can get.
The radiator support panel (sometimes know as front cross member) is the box section that the radiator sits on. In the first picture it shows the top skin (JS.694) and directly below that is the lower half U-section panel (you can see the radiator lug supports on it). I think it's probably a long shot that it isn't already gone (corrosion) as this is a known trouble area.

The seats are still in the car out near Rathdowney. I will be collecting all parts wanted in a couple of weeks, the seats will come with me then on the condition you pick them up from me and take them away as I don't have storage space if you change your mind. You can always give them away on Gumtree if you don't want them.
I will PM you contact details.
Wheel has some minor cracks that will need attention. The horn ring may be in the car somewhere.

First parts find a new home
I was planning on re finishing the wood strips on the doors but the ones from this wreck are near perfect so I made good use of them. Easy fix, but would you believe I had to re-drill most of the holes in the door to fit them.
Also swapping rear door pockets for these ones with speakers, should make a sound improvement.

Ok, heading out Sunday 8th Nov,with the Jeep and trailer and my mechanic mate I have known for 40 years. He is going to pull whatever parts he thinks are worth saving (known wear and tear items) that are ok the be used.
If you spot anything else you may want, now is the time to speak up. This car may go to the crusher any day now.

Clarke, thanks for offering the heater controls in my stereo removal thread. I've pulled the stereo out and the centre slider control has a snapped hose attachment port, so I'll definitely need them!
Here's a pic of my broken one still attached to the support bracket:
Can you also grab the whole metal support bracket that houses the centre heater control and the stereo?
