Front fog light kit

1 Attachment(s)
Hi
I'm moving soon and have been clearing my garage ready.
Well today I discovered a jaguar/Daimler front fog light kit part number gi23614 .it has the lights, brackets ,and quite a number of unopened packets with switches and what not in them, believe to be complete.
Can anyone check out the part no please .
Just wondering how rare it is and of course how much would it be worth.

Cheers rich

$22 million dollars.

Rich16v 10-26-2014 04:26 PM

Wow!!!!
What's that in £'s

lickahotskillet 10-26-2014 05:46 PM

If they were Hella, they'd be worth more than $22 million, for sure.

Rich16v 10-26-2014 05:56 PM

Wouldn't original equipment be better??

davidboger 10-26-2014 07:37 PM

Rich..

They are fairly rare, especially in new condition...
The Shelby Mustang uses the same lamps, which only increases the value...
Right now on Ebay, a pair is bid up to $230, with 7 days left... It'll probably level off around $350-$400...
Series 1 XJ guys like them as original equipment....
Nice find...

For reference, not my listing...

Carl,
yes, the pounds that you will add to the front bumper area and to the dashboard.

the pounds that you will lose worrying if you wire them incorrectly

Naah, I'm thinking of the medium of exchange!!

and, as I'd need to get a different switch to wire them electricaly correct as well as legaly correct, they will either go or remain in my shed.

too bad, I've wired in fogs or drivers in so many of my past critters with no issues!!!
Used an independent switch on each though.

this is how I independently wired auxiliary lamps in my 1965 S type, because just like in the XJ-6, the headlamps go OFF when you select the Fog Lamps position in the main switch.

Yes, that is how I've done it. But, I used switched power for the relay. Don't leave the lights on when parked and engine off!!! Noi disappointments when battery dead and I stranded!!

Left the lights on in the Jaguar the other day,, a rainy day. Lucky, still enough juice to fire it.

The Peoples's Republic of California amended the CVC. Lights must be on, whenever, the w/s wipers are on??? You think the cops pay much attention to that??? And, most drivers do it anyway. Oh, well, it kept them busy and away from dumber and more costly law making.

Carl.

Carl,
do you mean that when the ignition switch is turned OFF, the lights also are turned OFF automatically?

if yes, I like that idea since during the day, I also forget to turn off either the parking lights or headlights. (I usually drive with the parking lights ON for safety).

how is this achieved?

JagCad 10-27-2014 12:26 PM

Jose:

Yes. Merely by powering the triggering post on the relay with a key switched source rather than battery direct. Kinda like the radio.

IMO it's a good idea. It's surprising how many numpties (especially in silver/ grey cars) over here don't even think about how invisible they are in the rain and spray.
If we could devise a fog detector which put the fog lights on when foggy but only if foggy and not in the city!!
