I'm embarassed to even admit this, but... in the process of painting the lower A-arms, I lost track of which is the left driver's side and which is the right passenger side. They are both different as you can see in the pics. One has the lower ball joint attachment aiming in the opposite direction of the other A-arm. So they are not interchangeable with each other. So... anyone know which is which? Or have any pics you took when you did the job that will help me out?

Reason: Miss spelling
I have a little different logic than Jose. The lower A-arm ball joint should bend toward the front. My thinking on this says that you want a little positive caster, this is achieved with the bottom pivot being forward of the top pivot, compared to a vertical line drawn through the spindle to ground contact.
A tie-breaker will chime in shortly to set us all straight.
I went out to EBay and searched for "Front lower control arm" for an XJ6 and XJS and got lots of good pictures to help me figure it out. I know I got it right from those pics. Thanks everyone! The project continues....
I always put a red coloured cable tie on anything that requires handing (red as in navigation lights as in the famous tipple beloved of Brits: "is there any port left?")
I swapped my Series 1 LCA's for Series 2 jobs. Yes, they are different, What a surprise!
Using Jose's logic I fitted them with the bend to the rear. Must've got 'em mixed up. And that is no surprise.
But when I checked the castor readings, they seemed to be within factory specs and the car steers nice.
Will I be swapping them? Not on your nellie.
