Default Fuel tanks query

Hi all
quick question for yas
I have my S III fuel tanks removed for tank sealing and clean/paint
ive removed the fuel feed pipe and the fuel return pipe
im wondering if the olives will reseal and not leak when I re tighten them up?

I have always re-used the compression sealing components. They are brass so they should be soft enough to reseal. Just snug them so as not to strip the threads.

Same here, and I always spray some Silicon Lube on the whole fitting prior to assembly, just makes thing move a tad easier than dry.

Yes, the compression fittings should be fine, but inspect all the steel fuel pipes that are above the axle and the rubber hoses as mine were all rotten and required replacement when I did the same job on mine.

yeah im repalcing all fuel hoses and pipes if required
Shes getting a full restoration

My plumber always uses a bit of PTFE tape when bolting up compression fittings. We have never had a leak yet.

better than PTFE tape is a dab of HYLOMAR on the threads, used in Formula cars to stop potential fuel leaks.
