Fuse info
 

I am starting a restoration on an 89 xj6. First thing is electrical. The fuse box covers from the left And right side kick panels are missing. I have dead shorts in both boxes. Cant find any schematic that gives the fuse data. I have downloaded several PDFs with individual component diagrams but none show the exact fuse location in the fuse box. Just the number. Problem is, without the fusebox cover, I dont really know which fuse matches the corresponding number. Checked with Coventry Jag in Atlanta for a couple used covers. None. Could really use a pic of the box cover with the data readable through this forum or by email. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure if the original post was done right. Trying to see if anyone can identify which fuse goes to which circuit as the fuse bix covers are missing. All schematics show only the component circuit to a certain fuse. Without the cover i dont know which fuse is which without a laborious search. Anyone with a closeup pic of the fusebox covers showing the data would certainly be greatly appreciated.

ask in the XJ-40 forum section. The XJ-40 starts in 1988. Yes it is also known as a XJ-6 but the body, mechanicals, and electronics are different from the last XJ-6 of 1987.

Around here you can't swing a dead cat in one of the self serve junkyards without hitting a XJ40

Row52.com lets you search for cars in self serve junkyards near your zip code/

Another resource is car-part.com where you can search all yards for parts. You won't find a fuse cover in the search menu, but just put in 'engine' or some other major component and sort to distance from your zip code. Chances are if they have an engine or some other big component they will have the carcass of the car they took it out of and you can buy the covers you need/\

Thanks for the reply and the helpful info. I didnt know about the junkyard locator app. Have searched all the yards in my area that i know of with no luck, but maybe there is another yard i am not familiar with. Thanks again.
