Default GM 400 oil pan removal

Having trouble getting the trans. pan removed from my 1977 XJ12L. All bolts out but part of the rear trans mounting bracket covers the flange on the pan and wont let me slide the pan forward or pull pan straight down to remove. Workshop manual makes no mention of this problem. Any help on this will be much appreciated.

i'm not sure if your trans mount is the same as mine, but mine has lots of UP and Down play. I could simply pry mine up and get about an inch maybe.

Thank you. Had to pry the exhaust pipe over and finally was able to wiggle the pan free.
