Did the same to my 85. Pretty simple. If you have a factory manuel it describes the removal procedure pretty clearly. I don't like Haynes manuels for the most part, but, the gas tank removal procedure is actually pretty good in it. There are lots of small bolts, and you have to remove the end of your rear bumper, but not real difficult unless their all rusted to the point they'll have to be replaced. You also have to remove the bottom cover in order to get to the tank. Your tank may be really bad, then again maybe only a small pin hole, which can be easily repaired with POR15, or several other fuel tank sealers. A trip to a radiator shop to have the tank boiled out is in order if it doesn't look too bad, and they can make a repair if its only small holes. There are lots of articles about leaking fuel tanks here, and Jag-lovers.org, so do some reading first, you'll learn a lot of good info about your car. Good luck, its a very rewarding repair if your new to Jaguars. Keith
