Default Heater Pully Wire

Any suggestions for replacing the high tension braided wire that pulls the heater lever for settings?

had fishing line (too big) and guitar wire (breaks)

its a very fine 0.5mm or such wire

Got four ideas:

1. The cruise control cable via the wrecking yard.

2. Throttle cable, same source.

3. Bowden cable. Motorcycle or bicycle shop.

4. Clock maker. Used to hang pendulum weights
in a grand father clock.

Yeah, the right stuff is usually best.

But, another idea popped up.

Weed whacker line. Tough plastic in various dimensions.

Too well acquainted. Much use of my whackers. And more needed.
