Help with radio
 

Hi, the display on the radio in my 1993 Jaguar Daimler XJ6 S shows only comma signs and not "code" after battery has been detached. It is possible that the former owner entered the wrong security code more than 3 times. The radio is always left on and half of the comma signs on the display have slowly disappeared one after the other. Is this some form of representation of how long the radio is in security lock mode? The radio has been on for at least 30 hours so I'm getting rather fed up not being able to enter the security code. Any idea? Thanks in advance!

hello. when i entered my code wrong 3 times the display read "please wait". i would disconnect the battery for ten or fifteen minutes and the reattach it. I would leave the key in the "on" posistion for 45min to one hour and then be able to enter the code. It is possible the display is old and not displaying properly. I would suggest following the steps and then entering the code assuming that the display is fried and you'd be flying blind. If you decide to replace the radio make sure you get the vin number from the car you take it from. By calling a dealership with that vin number you can get the code to it. Good luck!
