Default Henry Criddle - Scammer

I placed an ad in our club magazine and on its website up for some Jaguar XJ12 parts. Next thing you know I get an email from Henry asking if I want to buy parts - and please send a list of what I want. I told Henry my story and that the only parts I am interested in at present is an entire rust free XJ body. Henry replied insisting I send a request list and included a photo of a sable brown North American car. I ignored Henry but he has persisted and again asked me to send him a request list of parts. Of course he is breaking up this car as he needs surgery soon.
Needless to say a big scam. Googled Henry and there is a warning about him on the Wolsely website. A shame - Henry Criddle is a such an English name for a Nigerian gentleman!

Thanks for the warning on the scammer. Have had a couple of similar approaches via phone and internet.
What series XJ body are you after?
I know of a S2 at Redcliffe QLD about 12 Months ago missing the front end. I wanted to buy the interior but he wanted to sell the whole car. I think he was after $1500
There is a S3 XJ6 locally in the Pine Rivers QLD area. Fairly intact and rust free. It was a Darling Downs car. ie fairly dry climate. It is currently a non runner but intact.
Lets know if you are interested in following up on these. I know Bowral is a fair distance away but that is OZ for us. I have had to go to Port Lincoln, Mittagong and East Gippsland buying aeroplanes
I am genuine. Check the Jaguar Drivers Club of Queensland (JDCQ) website. I write the Nuts and Bolts magazine column and Tech Tips in the website. I am also a monocoque register leader.

Bill,
thanks for your post, but I am after a series 1 SWB body. I bought a series 1 V12 with the engine in parts. That engine was only good for scrap. I then bought a series 1 manual O/D with a rustedd body. The idea was to put the 6 cyl engine and gearbox in the V12 body, but the V12 body has more damage and corrosion than I first thought. The easy and cheaper way out is get another body, but I am still thinking over all of this.
Another option is to replace the model 12 in my good car with the manual box, and fit the 3.31 power lock axle from the V12 to that car. However I am a bit reluctant to ruin the originality of my series 1 XJ6.
