how long does gas last???
My jag has been Parked for almost a year now, IT had half a tank on each side, the drivers side pretty much emptied itself with a bad return line, but passenger side still has 1/4 tank, i start engine and run it for about 15 mins every other week, how much longer do it have until this gas goes bad and refuses to let car start????

add a few gallons to what's in there now with some Sta-bil additive. it'll b e fine

Gas in a sealed container is good for at least a year or so. Treating it with stabil after it's gone stale is sort of futile. Starting the engine and just letting it idle does more harm than good.

The term "sealed container" is quite subjective, although I agree in this case. Treating stale fuel with stabil would be futile, but diluting stale fuel with some fresh fuel that hasn't evap/converted all of it's light particles is not. The suggestion to add some stabil to the new fuel is with the assumption it'll be stored a while longer. |
I would guesstimate the car will sit for another couple of months, as i bring it back to roadworthy condition, I have been given the go ahead from the missus!!! I dont work as fast as i used to, at the end of the day im worn out, so work will be limited to weekends and evenings that im feeling spunky!!
