How to replace smooth antenna mast line?
I am trying to replace the broken antenna mast line. I have the motor apart -top round piece off and the E-clip and washers. Also, a small Allen screw
that went through the top black plastic piece.
But, the center piece appears to be held together by a spring clutch. I do notwant to wreck the motor and need advice on how it comes apart.
Plus, the antenna mast itself has about 18 inches of broken line sticking out and I need to know how to remove the black plastic retaining piece inside
the bottom of the mast without wrecking things.
Replacement antenna motors will not fit in the Series 1 XJ that this '84 S3 motor came out of due to the larger mast size used in replacement units.
Photo shows the bottom of the mast and the motor apart to the current point.
