My 79 XJ12 I have been tring to find the problem with my running lights. I don't have running lights at the write rear of the car. I have traced the red power wire to under the center console. I have power to the plug that goes to the center console and then I have no power at the at the red wire under the right rear door seal, so the is a problem between the door seal and th front of the consol. Does anyone have a thought as to why I'm have this problem and what might be under there?

 

Does the number plate lamp work?

 

I can't find wear the number plate plugs into, the car was repainted and the wire where the light pluginto isn't there.

 

If it was me. I'd simply run a new wire from where you have power back to your lights.

Chances are that a 32 year old wire is broken.

The number plate wire should come along one boot hinge and end somewhere near the lock.

 

Is there a jrunk light on these cars? Because mine has one and it doesn't work and I'm wondering if that is the wire and they used it for the truck light, it lookd like it was put in half assed. Well I will look into that. I still doesn't solve my tailight problem
