Default My first Jag!

Hi everyone, I'm a newbie, I've just bought a '77 series 2, I'm picking her up on Saturday and I feel like a kid before Christmas!
The previous owner has had her for 20 years and I feel luck to be the next owner. She hasn't been started for a couple of years and hasn't been driven for about 7 years. 160km on the clock, a bit of the old rust is starting to show. She's a complete car, tidy interior. Can't wait to get her home and get started!

Congrats on the Jag! I suggest that you get the brake fluid changed with a new master cylinder, rotors and pads on all corners.

G'day Calvey. Giving us as much of your location as you feel comfortable with will help people asses your needs & what's available in your area. So I'd recommend it. Sounds like you've got the right attitude for Jag ownership; i.e. one-eyed enthusiasm. Many will tell you'll also that you need deep pockets & a touch of insanity too, but don't listen to them. This place is the key to affordable Jag ownership. The knowledge base here is phenomenal, & the best resource you'll ever have, or need, to finding the right fix, at the best price to keep your baby on the road. Congrats & welcome to the madhouse!

Rusty, old, from the dreadful 70's and you're excited about it! Most people get excited to walk into a dealership and do the kabooki dance that is buying a new car. Not you, not me, not most of us here. You are different and amongst friends.

Hello, Calvey,
Congratulations!
The Series 2 is the Most Beautiful of all the series in my opinion, especially with S3 tail lights, grill and a few other chrome bits.

But,

Welcome to our playpen from ElinorB.

They sure are! Its about a week after the fires, that spot is well away from where the fires were.
