Need brake pad advice
I replaced the master cylinder on the 86 Jaguar XJ6 last weekend. Nice improvement in braking, but the front pads are getting very thin. I see so many different kinds of brake pads available that I am now confused and would appreciate some advice on selecting the correct brake pads.

The last set I had on my Ser III were Raybestos PGD9M (rear) and PGD135M (front) and I was very happy with them. There isn't anything special about 'em...but they were quiet, very little dust, goood pedal feel and stopping power, not expensive <shrug>
I've also been happy with Ferodo, Mintex, NAPA house brand, blah blah blah. I'm struggling to remember if I've ever bought a "bad" set of brakes. I probably have but don't remember what they were. If you're after *specific attributes* in brake pads, as opposed to overall decent performance, then I or others can come up with some other recommendations. Cheers DD |
Thank you Doug!
