Default New bush front suspension

Hi,

quick question, can these be replaced without the use of a press?
the manual doesn’t say much and maybe it’s just that simple.

Easy to change, no press.

Yes. Just did it the other day. Very easy if the subframe is dropped.

I was hoping to do this with the subframe in place...
if it needs to be lowered i’ll better get an engine support and replace all rubber parts.
Turning in to a bigger then anticipated job.

You do not have to support the engine to change these bushes. Once the car is off the ground, not on its front wheels, do one side at a time as follows
  • you have to loosen the circular clamp (part of the actual subframe) that holds the bush. You can just gat a spanner on the top of the bolt, the bottom nut is easy
  • undo the huge nut and bolt through the centre of the bush
  • tap out the bolt, then the old bush.
  • ensure you get the sleeve out of the old bush and put it into the new one
  • replace the bush and insert the bolt (might need fiddling a bit to get it through the sleeve)
  • tighten the bolt
  • then tighten the clamp.
