New to Jaguar door lock question

Hello all. I am looking at a 1989 XJ6 Vanden Plas but cannot for the life of me figure out how to unlock the rear doors via key or button. I see the central lock button on the center console but it appears to be a one way switch, lock only no unlock. I have searched for a week now online and haven;t found anything. do I just need to turn the key twice like in other cars or? Thanks for your time.

The button in the console should toggle betweeen lock and unlock on alternatively, or maybe its up to lock and down to unlock

Can you lock/unlock by using your key? If so, you may want to start lookkng at the switch for troubleshooting

The switch in the console appears to be a one way toggle (I can click it down only) which locks everything, but pushing it again does not unlock them. I can unlock the drivers door with the key from outside, but the other doors don't have key access. Is unlocking the drivers door supposed to unlock all the doors when I turn it? I have test driven the car and am ok with the few items that need a little TLC, but I will be using it daily to pick up my kids from school and climbing over the arm rest to get to the back seats so i can unlock the rear doors to let them in at the school is not really an option. :) Right now that one item is all that is keeping me from making the purchase. The engine and transmission are smooth as glass..and the seller has the maintenance books and from what they show the car was well cared for.

problem solved...sort of

Hey all, I ended up not getting the '89 XJ6 Vanden Plas as I came across a 1998 XJ8 2 owner with all the service records in nearly showroom condition for a great price. All of the "kryptonite" areas on the vehicle for this year and type had already been addressed and I am happy as a 50 year old can be with his midlife crisismobile. Thanks for all the guidance.
