New Parts Car!

3 Attachment(s)
I manage to find a complete XJ6 locally to break for parts for my '84. It was built only a few months before mine and is the same colour as mine was originally (mine was painted Porsche Slate Grey about 20 years ago).

It has had some badges and parts stolen, and a lot of wiring yanked about by vandals, but there are some good panels and hopefully I'll end up with a complete spare IRS unit as well as some bits to sell and maybe make back some money.

The only downside is that my car has a less common interior colour - blue - while this one is tan but I might still be able to track down a blue console lid from another source.

Another step towards getting my car complete and back on the road !

Tim, is your parts car a Sovereign? If so, I might be interested in the rear headrests if they are intact and in good shape.
Thanks,
Andrew.

Hi Andrew,

it is not a Sovereign I'm afraid -

Oh well, thanks anyway. We didn't get them down in the States, and I always thought the rear headrests were kind of neat.

Best,
Andrew.

Leather Dyes are readily available to change colors on your new panels. Tan to Blue should be a very doable project

Wowee, looks fixable to me.

I thought about the dying, I do know one of the basic colours available at Canadian Tire is a close match so I might try it before getting more involved with colour matching.

Carl, it probably is fixable and if I'm honest it has less rust on it than mine does.. it has only light accident damage but the real horror is the mess thieves made of the wiring, and somebody had a go punching holes in random things with a screwdriver, such as the brake and coolant reservoirs. It's tipped it over in uneconomical territory for me anyway.
