Sorry for such simple questions. There is no handbook in the 1985 XJ6 that I got yesterday. I will order one. In the meanwhile can someone tell me the oil capacity and if it is recommended to use 20w50 as mentioned on other threads regarding XJ´s like the XJ40? Thanks.

 

I believe you need 9 quarts of 20w50.

Probably the same as the XJ40´s then. They hold 8.5 quarts. The oil filter is the same. I´ll put in that much and then measure. 20w50 it shall be. Thanks.
