overdrive or just D for drive?

Hi everyone. Proud owner of a 1995 XJ6 Sedan 4D and it rides like a dream. 50k original mile and zero problems.
Just a stupid question. The owners manual dosen't talk abut the two D's on the J style auto transmission. There's a D on the left side of the J and a D on the right side. I first thought that one was a "Overdrive" D but there no classic circule around the D which usualy denotes overdrive.

Is this second D just a convient Drive gear and not overdrive?

Sorry, can't help you there. My 87 only has 3 speeds ;-) You might post in the XJ300 or XJ-40 list to get more help. Congrats on your new purchase - enjoy!
