Passenger Side Front Window
Today my passenger side front window went down on my 1986 Jaguar XJ 6 series III, when I activated my window switch. When I went to activate it up... Nothing
My other windows and sunroof are all working. Can anyone please provide some troubleshooting help. Thanks JimJam |
It's likely in the switch itself..
As a temporary measure you can access the switch, and turn it around (or swap it with one of the others) to get the window up... Instructions here: Jaguar XJ6 Window Switch Replacement Those switches are fairly easily taken apart and cleaned, or you can buy another one. I have those on my site as well... Thank you for your response
I will give it try tomorrow and let you know how it went Thanks again Jim |
I was able to get back to the switch, and was in the process of using a different switch as you suggested. It might have been in the connection itself, as the window began to operate and I no longer have the issue.

Yahoo.
Another Jaguar idiosyncracy! Make and break connections. Similar to Doug's 'wiggle" process. Carl |
I've often wondered how many faults have been fixed in replacement of parts. Not because of the new part being good and the old being bad, but by the replacement process, itself. Disconnect and reconnect.
And worse yet, a good original with a bad replacement !!! Carl Carl |
Am learning that valuable lesson!
