Project 84 XJ6
Last week I got the her running but need to fix or replace the fuel change over switch before its truly fixed. Then clean or replace the tanks.
Today I got the bumpers off. The back shock mount bolts were a b###h they had to be hammered all the way through, but he front was easy.
The rust seems entirely superficial from a bad respray at some point. I think she may be a good solid base for the project.
I plan to keep this as a thread to update with progress, wish me luck

HA!!!
In my youth (?), it was off with bumpers, fenders, running boards and at times, the top!!! Hood sides, if the engine was decent.
As to the '5 mi impact' bumper, I don't mind the ones on my 83.
The rear one did it's job at least twice for me!!
But, some report cleaning out the tubular support and allowing the bumper to come in closer to the tin.
BRRR, it is cold out side here!!!

She Runs !!!!
Switched out a new fuel tank switch and now she starts and runs
Waiting on Nav and audio unit before rebuilding the center dash.
Drilled out the bumper shocks front and rear.
New steering wheel arrived, going to wait to fit until the rest of the interior work is done.
Slow but progress at least.
