Radio code

I just remembered...

My battery went dead since my cat has been sitting since late February because of the valve cover gasket issue.

The radio is original Jaguar, and is wanting a code entered. Anyone know the code?

Thanks,
Randy

Each radio had its own code. The dealer *might* still be able to get an unlock code for you. They might need the VIN and/or the serial number off the radio itself.

Cheers

"If" you have the original manuals floating around the in glovebox... Look through them... Often times you find the number penciled in somewhere....
Usually it's just a four digit code...

I did have one a couple of years ago that i didn't have the code for... Phoned the local Jaguar dealer and gave them the vin and proof of ownership (Like Doug said)... and they did get the number for me....

What would I do without my wife?

Wifey just reminded me that she found the code in the owners manual sometime back when I put it in the shop for a new engine fan.

The first owner was a full bird colonel in the army, and had tech books and all sorts of spare parts, like headlights, oil filters, etc... in the trunk.
He sold it to his friend who let it sit in a garage for 7 years until I bought it last year.

I'm grateful for those manuals, just gotta start reading them...lol

Thanks guys!

LOL, it's a good idea to read manuals , hey I didn't know your jags also come with the radio codes

Just the very last of the Series 3 had radio codes.... I "think" it may have only been on two radios on the late 85 - 87 models.....

Remove the radio just far enough so you can read the serial number on it and then call your local dealer with the vin# and radio serial number and they can get it for you. If they give you static ask for someone else in the parts department or call another dealer, they're just being lazy. My local dealer got the code for mine a month or two ago when I first bought my car.
