Radio Relay Location in Series 3

Hi all,

I am adding in some small electrical accessories that I want to piggyback off the radio relay on my S3 XJ6 (it looks to have ample capacity for what I want to do). Can anyone tell me EXACTLY where it's located? The diagram I have shows it's roughly in the center console area, but there is a big difference between "under one of the side/cheek panels" and "gotta tear out the entire center console to get at it". I would really like to know before I start tearing into things that don't need tearing into. Many thanks!

Just aft of the window switches as I recall. I think you'll be able to see it if you remove the cubby box...10 minute job

Thanks - I found it! It's very close to where you indicated - it's just in front of the window switches - the relay is piggybacked to the right rear shifter mounting point. This actually seems to be the only relay in the console/ski slope area.

Speaking of the cubby - I love how the service manual indicates that you can get the ski slope out WITHOUT removing the cubby. I can't see how that would be remotely possible due to all the window switch wiring (maybe you can pop the switches, pull up the ski slope and then d/c the wiring?

After I took the cubby out about 3 times, the catch for the lid finally had enough and broke.
