Ran Away!
Today we were skulking around our local WalMart, and just as we were leaving, we met coming into the parking lot, an X-300, which had definitely seem better days.
It had obviously spent most of its life outside as the clear coat was gone from all the horizontal surfaces; top, hood, trunk, tops of the doors (where it looked especially bad) and the original shade of green had faded accordingly. However, Jags of that era have become so rare on the ground that we thought we would circle around and chat a bit, maybe exchange photos.
Not So!! We saw him sitting at an odd angle across several slots and thought perhaps he was waiting for us, but as I pulled up to chat, he left Very abruptly.
As we happened to be headed the same direction we followed along, at a discreet distance. However, the driver was NOT interested in conversation, not even making eye contact. In fact, when we happened to be at the same stop light at the same time, he was so intently studying his phone and working hard to ignore us that he nearly missed the green Left turn arrow.
Nix and I decided it was because he wasn't well kept and ashamed of his appearance.
That's our story and we're sticking to it!
