Rapid clicking behind dash then AC stopped working
Was driving my 1990 XJ6 Vanden Plas yesterday with the AC on and all is good - -air is cold and suddenly there's a VERY rapid clicking sound behind the dashboard and the cold air stops. Fans still run, but no cold air. Stopping and restarting the car and/or fans makes no difference. Any ideas what's going on?

Being a 1990 and a 6 cylinder, I reckon you got an XJ40, as Jaguar call it.
The a/c system in it is worlds apart from the basic system these Series cars have.
