Replacing rear studs

1982 XJ6 how do you replace the rear studs? Can't tell if they thread in or are pressed in? All the parts info I have is no help. My best guess is go under the "shield" and grind the head of the back side and hope they thread out. Then find a 1/2 x 20 stud to thread in. Appreciate any info on this - Thanks

I answered this on the Jag Lovers forum but YES the staked part is ground off with a cut-off wheel and the stud can be 'double-nutted' to remove the old one (or just use locking pliers)

I double-nut the new stud to install and tack weld the back of the stud to the hub.

The part number is C13365.

I keep them in stock for replacement. It might be good to keep one in the glove cubby for future use.
