Default S1 XJ6 Turn Signal Lever

The turn signal stalk/lever/switch in my '71 XJ6 works fine for all three functions (L & R directionals plus "flash-to-pass"). however, it is a little "wobbly", shall we say, and is sometimes reluctant to go into the right spot to activate the RH directionals (flashing the high-beams instead!).

I was wondering if anyone has some detailed photos of this switch, and particularly if there are any screws or other bits that I might be able to tighten up to take the slop out of it. I'm guessing that I will need to source another, but I thought I would ask first.

Tom

I have no real advise other to say that on my 1985 series III the same thing was happening. Then it broke, wouldnt work in any function and cost $320 to replace! So, perhaps work quickly to find out the issue before it breaks or you may be looking at a big bill.

Hi Tom..

The Series 1 cars that I've driven have all had a sloppy feeling turn signal switch, even on nicely restored ones...
I'll try to get you some photos of some that I have on hand.. Can't recall if there is anything to adjust..

Cheers

That would probably be a good way to go...
If something happens and it falls through, you may want to try Terry's Jaguar parts..
They have a good selection of older stuff, even though some of it's not on the site..

I'd be interested to know how the play is on the new one after you get it installed..

Cheers

Thanks, David, I'll try to get a side-by-side comparison before and after mounting the switch on the column.
